How Weighted Semester Grades Work

Final = Σ(grade × weight) / Σ(weights)

Example: 90% homework at 20% weight and 80% exam at 80% weight → (90×20 + 80×80) / 100 = 82%.

Multiply each category grade by its weight, sum the products, then divide by the sum of weights: Σ(grade × weight) / Σ(weights).

What if my category weights do not add up to 100%?

What letter grade scale does this tool use?
