Cubic Feet Formula

Volume (ft³) = Length × Width × Height

All three dimensions must be in feet before multiplying. Convert first: inches ÷ 12, yards × 3, meters × 3.28084, centimeters ÷ 30.48.

  • H = height in feet

Worked Example

A storage unit measures 10 ft long × 8 ft wide × 6 ft high. Volume = 10 × 8 × 6 = 480 ft³. That equals 480 ÷ 27 ≈ 17.78 yd³, or 480 × 7.48052 ≈ 3,591 gallons.
